Happy Sunday, neighbors!
A few seeds. A first paddling lesson. A morning spent building something small enough for a fairy. This week's good news comes with an invitation to join in. We've found five local and nearby options for September 13–19, plus a forecast that gives the umbrella a very full workweek.
🌱 A small seed project with room for your teenager
Tuesday, September 15 · 3–5 p.m. · Rye Preserve, Parrish
Teens ages 12–18 can spend Tuesday afternoon harvesting seeds and planting at Rye Preserve through Manatee County's VolunTeens program. The seeds will help grow plants for county preserves, so this is a chance to contribute something that keeps growing after the afternoon is over.
No experience is needed, and the county says supplies and instructions are provided. Reservations are required; use the organizer's page to check registration before making plans. If your teenager has been looking for a volunteer opportunity that gets them outdoors, this one deserves a spot on the kitchen calendar.
